Homemade pizza
Ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 large onions, thinly sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup black olives, pitted and sliced
1/2 cup anchovy fillets, drained
1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary leaves
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
Directions:
Prepare the Onions:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for another 2 minutes. Stir in the tomato paste and balsamic vinegar. Remove from heat and set aside.
Assemble the Pissaladière:
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to fit a baking sheet or pizza stone. Transfer the pastry to the baking sheet and prick the surface with a fork to prevent bubbling.
Top the Pastry:
Spread the caramelized onion mixture evenly over the puff pastry. Arrange the sliced olives and anchovy fillets on top. Sprinkle with thyme, rosemary, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
Serve:
Let the Pissaladière cool slightly before slicing into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.
