Ploughman’s Lunch 🧀
Looking for a clever idea for a low-fuss dinner. Try this super sandwich twist on the Ploughman’s lunch.
Ingredients:
1 loaf crusty bread
1/2 lb (225g) cheddar cheese
4 pickled onions
1 cup mixed salad leaves
1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1/2 cup cucumber slices
1/4 cup Branston pickle or other chutney
2 hard-boiled eggs, peeled and halved
1 apple, cored and sliced
4 slices of ham or cold cuts (optional)
Butter, for spreading
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions:
Slice the loaf of crusty bread and spread butter on each slice. Cut the cheddar cheese into thick slices.
Arrange the cheese, pickled onions, salad leaves, cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices, and apple slices on a large plate or platter.
Add Branston pickle or chutney in a small dish on the side.
Place the hard-boiled egg halves and optional slices of ham or cold cuts on the plate.
Season with salt and pepper as desired. Serve immediately, or chill until ready to serve.
