Frita Cubana🍔✨
Ingredients:
1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
1/4 pound chorizo, finely chopped
1/2 onion, grated
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 tablespoon white vinegar
4 soft Cuban rolls or hamburger buns
2 cups shoestring fries (fried or baked)
Butter for toasting the buns
Optional toppings: pickles, lettuce, and tomato slices
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, chopped chorizo, grated onion, garlic, smoked paprika, ground cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.
Shape the mixture into 4 patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup, tomato paste, and white vinegar to create the Frita sauce. Set aside.
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until fully cooked and slightly charred.
While the patties are cooking, butter the Cuban rolls or hamburger buns and toast them until golden brown.
Assemble the Frita Cubana by placing a cooked patty on the bottom half of each toasted roll. Top with a generous amount of the Frita sauce, followed by a handful of crispy shoestring fries. Add optional toppings if desired, and cover with the top half of the roll.
Serve hot and enjoy the perfect blend of Cuban flavors in a classic burger form.
