Ingredients:
For the Beef Patties:
1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
4 slices of cheddar cheese
4 burger buns
For the Secret Sauce:
½ cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon mustard
1 tablespoon pickle relish
1 teaspoon vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
Directions:
Make the Secret Sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, vinegar, sugar, and smoked paprika until smooth. Set aside in the fridge to chill.
Make the Beef Patties:
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently without overworking the meat.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties.
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until your desired doneness is reached.
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the pan or grill to allow the cheese to melt.
Assemble the Burgers:
Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in the oven.
Spread the secret sauce generously on both sides of the bun.
