Sizzling Steak with Velvety Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients:

2 (8 oz) ribeye steaks

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika

4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed

4 tablespoons butter

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup milk

Directions:

Prepare the mashed potatoes:

Place cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and return to the pot.

Add butter, heavy cream, and milk to the potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and set aside.

Cook the steak:

Pat steaks dry with paper towels. Rub both sides of the steak with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the steaks for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your preferred doneness.

Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
