Chinese Beef and Onion Stir-Fry Recipe 🥩🧅🥩
Ingredients:
1 lb beef flank steak, thinly sliced
2 large onions, sliced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons water
Chopped green onions (for garnish)
Cooked rice (for serving)
Instructions:
Step 1: Marinate the Beef In a bowl, toss the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of sugar. Mix well and set aside to marinate for at least 10 minutes.
Step 2: Make the Sauce In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, water, and sugar. Set this aside for later.
Step 3: Sauté the Onions Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and stir-fry for about 5 minutes until they soften and caramelize slightly. Once done, remove them from the pan and set aside.
Step 4: Cook the Beef Add the remaining oil to the same pan. Stir-fry the marinated beef until it’s browned and fully cooked, about 3-4 minutes. Then, add the minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for an additional minute.
Step 5: Combine and Serve Return the sautéed onions to the pan and pour in the prepared sauce. Stir everything together and let it cook for another 2 minutes until the flavors are fully combined. Serve over cooked rice and garnish with chopped green onions.
