Chinese Beef and Onion Stir-Fry Recipe 🥩🧅
Ingredients:
- 1 lb beef flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
- Chopped green onions (for garnish)
- Cooked rice (for serving)
Directions:
Step 1: Marinate the Beef In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of sugar. Mix well and let the beef marinate for at least 10 minutes.
Step 2: Prepare the Sauce In a small bowl, mix together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, water, and sugar. Set the sauce aside.
Step 3: Sauté the Onions Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and stir-fry them for about 5 minutes, until they soften and lightly caramelize. Remove the onions from the pan and set them aside.
Step 4: Cook the Beef Add the remaining oil to the same pan. Stir-fry the marinated beef until browned and fully cooked, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and ginger and stir-fry for an additional 1 minute.
Step 5: Combine and Serve Return the sautéed onions to the pan, pour in the prepared sauce, and stir everything together. Cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the sauce to fully coat the beef and onions. Serve the stir-fry hot over cooked rice and garnish with chopped green onions.
