A portion Fried Oysters
Enjoy these crispy fried oysters as an appetizer, snack, or part of a seafood feast!
Ingredients:
1 pint of fresh oysters, drained
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup cornmeal
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
2 large eggs, beaten
Vegetable oil for frying
Lemon wedges for serving
Directions:
Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, cornmeal, salt, pepper, and paprika.
Dip each oyster into the beaten eggs, then coat with the flour and cornmeal mixture, shaking off any excess.
Fry the oysters in small batches, about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
Remove and drain on paper towels.
Serve hot with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce.
