Arizona BBQ Brisket 🥩
Ingredients:
4 lbs beef brisket
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup BBQ sauce
1/2 cup beef broth
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
Lime wedges (for serving)
Directions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
Prepare the Brisket: Rub the brisket with olive oil. In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Rub this spice mixture all over the brisket.
Sear the Brisket: Heat a large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove the brisket and set aside.
Deglaze the Pan: Pour beef broth into the pan and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom.
Cook the Brisket: Return the brisket to the pan and cover with BBQ sauce. Cover the pan with a lid or aluminum foil and transfer it to the preheated oven. Bake for 3-4 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
Finish and Serve: Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges.
