Avocado Toast
Ingredients:
2 ripe avocados
4 slices of bread (sourdough, whole grain, or your choice)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 clove garlic, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
Red pepper flakes (optional)
Fresh herbs (such as cilantro, basil, or parsley), chopped (optional)
Cherry tomatoes, halved (optional)
Radishes, thinly sliced (optional)
Feta cheese or goat cheese, crumbled (optional)
A drizzle of olive oil (optional)
Directions:
Prepare the Avocado:
Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
Mash the avocado with a fork until smooth but still slightly chunky.
Mix in the lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
Toast the Bread:
Toast the slices of bread until they are golden brown and crispy.
Assemble the Toast:
Spread the mashed avocado mixture evenly over each slice of toasted bread.
If desired, top with red pepper flakes, fresh herbs, cherry tomatoes, radishes, and crumbled cheese.
Drizzle with a bit of olive oil if you like.
Serve:
Serve immediately while the toast is still crispy.
