Beef Steak with Rosemary, Black Pepper, Sea Salt, and Butter:
Ingredients:
2 beef steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or your preferred cut)
2 tbsp olive oil
2-3 sprigs fresh rosemary
2 cloves garlic (smashed)
1 tbsp sea salt (coarse)
1 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
2 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions:
- Season the Steaks:
Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Generously season both sides with coarse sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Press the seasoning into the meat for maximum flavor. - Heat the Pan:
Heat a heavy skillet or cast-iron pan over high heat. Once the pan is hot, add the olive oil and let it heat until shimmering. - Cook the Steaks:
Place the steaks in the hot pan and sear them for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare (or adjust the time based on your desired doneness).
Add the smashed garlic and rosemary sprigs to the pan after flipping the steaks. - Add the Butter and Baste:
In the last 1-2 minutes of cooking, add the butter to the pan. As it melts, tilt the pan slightly and use a spoon to baste the steaks with the melted butter, garlic, and rosemary to infuse more flavor. - Rest the Steaks:
Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, ensuring tenderness. - Serve:
Slice the steaks against the grain and serve immediately. Drizzle some of the rosemary butter from the pan over the top for extra flavor.
Enjoy your Beef Steak with Rosemary, Black Pepper, Sea Salt, and Butter! This simple but delicious dish pairs well with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
