Chocolate Latte Topped with Caramel and Candies
Ingredients:
1 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee
1 cup milk (whole, 2%, or your preferred type)
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/4 cup caramel sauce
Whipped cream
Assorted candies (e.g., crushed toffee, chocolate chips, mini marshmallows)
A pinch of sea salt (optional, for garnish)
Directions:
Prepare the Chocolate Mix: In a small saucepan, combine the cocoa powder and sugar. Gradually whisk in a few tablespoons of milk to form a smooth paste. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it starts to bubble, then whisk in the remaining milk. Continue heating until the mixture is hot but not boiling.
Prepare the Espresso/Coffee: Brew a cup of espresso or strong coffee and pour it into your serving cup.
Combine and Froth: Pour the hot chocolate mixture into the cup with the espresso or coffee. Stir well to combine. Optionally, froth the milk mixture for a creamy texture.
Top and Garnish: Generously top the latte with whipped cream. Drizzle caramel sauce over the whipped cream and sprinkle with assorted candies. Finish with a pinch of sea salt if desired for a touch of contrast.
