Delmonico Steak is a simple yet a succulent steak. This recipe is a classic method of preparing a quality Delmonico steak by searing the beef till cooked to desired temperature and then top it with a pat of Herb butter for added flavor.
Ingredients:
2 (10-12 oz) Delmonico steaks (ribeye or boneless ribeye)
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
Prepare the Steaks: Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Pat them dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper on both sides.
Cook the Steaks: Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and heat until shimmering. Add the steaks to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until a golden-brown crust forms and the desired doneness is reached (130°F for medium-rare). Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes.
Make the Garlic Herb Butter: While the steaks are resting, combine the minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, and softened butter in a small bowl. Mix until well combined.
Serve: Top each steak with a generous dollop of garlic herb butter. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
