Glazed Ribs with honey
Ingredients:
2 racks of baby back ribs
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
For the Glaze:
1 cup barbecue sauce
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and pat them dry with paper towels.
In a small bowl, mix together salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Rub the spice mixture all over the ribs.
Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil and brush with olive oil.
Cover with foil and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender and cooked through.
While the ribs are baking, prepare the glaze. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, barbecue sauce, honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and minced garlic. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the glaze has thickened slightly. Remove from heat.
Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil. Brush the ribs generously with the whiskey glaze.
Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C). Return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the glaze is caramelized and sticky.
Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
