Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich 🥪
Ingredients:
For the Smoked Meat:
1 lb (450 g) Montreal smoked meat, sliced (store-bought or from a deli)
1 loaf of rye bread, sliced
1/4 cup yellow mustard
For the Pickles:
1 cup kosher dill pickles, sliced
Directions:
Prepare the Sandwich:
If you have a whole piece of Montreal smoked meat, heat it according to package instructions or in a steamer until warmed through. If using pre-sliced meat, ensure it’s at room temperature or warm it gently.
Lightly toast the rye bread slices if desired for added texture.
Assemble the Sandwich:
Spread yellow mustard on one side of each slice of rye bread.
Layer the sliced Montreal smoked meat generously on one slice of bread.
Top with another slice of bread, mustard side down.
Serve:
Cut the sandwich in half and serve with a side of kosher dill pickle slices.
