Pulpo a la Gallega 🐙
Ingredients:
2 pounds octopus, cleaned
1 tablespoon salt
1 bay leaf
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
Sea salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)
Directions:
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the salt and bay leaf.
Add the octopus to the boiling water. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 45-60 minutes, or until the octopus is tender.
Remove the octopus from the water and let it cool slightly. Cut into bite-sized pieces.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the octopus pieces and sauté for 2-3 minutes until slightly crispy.
Sprinkle the smoked paprika and sweet paprika over the octopus. Season with sea salt and black pepper to taste.
Transfer to a serving dish and drizzle with additional olive oil if desired. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
