Bagels with Lox and Cream Cheese
This open-faced smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel is a great breakfast or brunch offering. Most grocery stores sell presliced smoked salmon and cream cheese, which makes this recipe a snap to put together and even easier to serve.
Ingredients:
4 bagels, sliced and toasted
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
8 ounces lox (smoked salmon)
1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
1/4 cup capers
1 large tomato, thinly sliced
1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
1 cucumber, thinly sliced
Lemon wedges for serving
Directions:
Slice and toast the bagels to your desired crispness.
Spread a generous layer of softened cream cheese on each bagel half.
Layer lox slices evenly over the cream cheese.
Top with thin slices of red onion, tomato, and cucumber.
Sprinkle capers and fresh dill over the toppings.
Serve the bagels with lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of flavor.
