Sonoran Hot Dog 🌭
Ingredients:
4 hot dog buns
4 beef hot dogs
4 slices of bacon
1/2 cup pinto beans, cooked and mashed
1/4 cup chopped tomatoes
1/4 cup diced onions
1/4 cup sliced jalapeños
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons mustard
1 tablespoon ketchup
Fresh cilantro, chopped
Lime wedges
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Prepare the Bacon: Wrap each hot dog with a slice of bacon, securing with toothpicks if needed. Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat and cook the bacon-wrapped hot dogs, turning occasionally, until the bacon is crispy and the hot dogs are heated through, about 8-10 minutes.
Prepare the Toppings: In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup to create a creamy sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Assemble the Hot Dogs: Spread a layer of mashed pinto beans onto each hot dog bun. Place the cooked bacon-wrapped hot dogs on top of the beans.
Add the Toppings: Spoon the chopped tomatoes, diced onions, and sliced jalapeños over the hot dogs. Drizzle with the creamy sauce and sprinkle with fresh cilantro.
Serve: Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side for an extra burst of flavor.
